The Hive Nucleus

by Jason N.

When Chad Nichols and I rewrote The Intergalactic Nemesis stage play in 2007, one of the plot elements we completely reworked was the Central Hive. Originally it was on Jupiter’s moon Europa and the sequence there involved a Zygonian named Xeres. But that sequence was very, very wordy, without much action, and ended really messily without good resolution. So in reworking the material we decided to put the hive on earth and tie it more closely with what Mysterion was up to. Chad came up with what the hive nucleus looked like, I came up with the name. Well, after three years of picturing this thing in our heads we finally have a visual and, boy, it’s even cooler than I imagined. I love how Tim uses the dutch angle in this image and Lee is the master of glowing colors. This two-page spread (with dialogue added) is featured in issue 4 of the series….

The Intergalactic Nemesis is a sci-fi webcomic, a science fiction comic-book and graphic novel, and a live show.
