The Intergalactic Nemesis is a sci-fi webcomic, a science fiction comic book, and a live show

3rd Graders - silent!

The past few days have been INSANE. Not only did we premiere Episode Three of the LIve-Action Graphic Novel before the 7 PM screenings of Iron Man 2 (which we hear is a ton of fun by the way!), not only did we sell a s&*$-ton of comic-books at the Iron Man 2 screenings, but this morning we headed into Bryker Woods Elementary School in Central Austin to play about 45 minutes of the show before about 300 kids. The really nutty part about it was that I somehow lost the adapter to go from my laptop to the projection system, so we had no projections. The result: we played it old-school as a radio play with me ad-libbing the narration. Somehow it went great and the kids really seemed to love it. Then we headed into the classroom with individual 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. Since they didn’t get to see the images, before we got into workshopping the sound effects with them, we gave them a chance to check out the comic-book, which brought an eerie silence to the room, I assure you. Then Buzz and I showed the kids some of the sounds and they got to play out a couple of scenes from the show.

Out of 254 surveys filled out at the Iron Man 2 shows, Episode 3 was rated a 4.2 (out of 5) by the audience. Not too shabby!
