For me, this is really magic. Taking the words from a script, translating them into lines that make images, then seeing those images become windows into another world when color is added. Each person in the collaborative process brings his own sensibility to the project–without any one of them (story, line, color) the puzzle just doesn’t fit. I’m incredibly lucky to be working with such amazing collaborators as Tim Doyle and Lee Duhig. Here are a couple of pages to give a sense of what I’m talking about…

Book Signing TODAY

Tim and I have gathered all our gear and we’re ready to sign books. I’ve got like six sharpies and a dozen pens. Definitely wondering if anyone will actually show up. We’ll be at Austin Books & Comics at 5002 N. Lamar (at 51st St.) from 5 to 7 PM. Still trying to figure out something clever to write. A friend of mine helped create a book called Bad Kids Go To Hell and he wrote “You’re the baddest.” on the copy I bought. That was clever. Maybe I’ll write: “You’re the Nemesisest.” Ha! I made myself laugh.

The inimitable Lee Duhig strikes! I don’t think I’ve seen a creepier dungeon, like, EVER. I particularly love how the light catches people’s heads–Mysterion’s on that first page, Ben’s as he busts through the door.

The shows at the Alamo Village went great this weekend. I’ll be posting a link to the video from that tomorrow. Thanks a ton to all of you who came out. Each of the screenings was a full house and that’s always a sweet deal for those of us who do our thing for an audience. Huge shout-out to the staff at the Alamo for doing such an awesome job supporting the show in every way. Thanks!

Welcome to The Intergalactic Nemesis!

Welcome to the new Intergalactic Nemesis website. For those of you who are new to Nemesis, it’s a sci-fi story set in the 1930s with great characters and all kinds of surprises. We originally created the show as a radio drama back in 1996. Since then, it’s become a stage show that’s toured the country, it’s been aired twice on KUT, it’s spawned two sequels, and now it’s a comic book, a live-action graphic novel (click on “about” to learn more about that), and more!
