After recuperating last week from the crazy STAPLE!/Alamo/dlair weekend before, I dove right into editing the seven-camera shoot from the press announcement we did at the Long Center. This took waaaay more time than I thought it would. First, after getting halfway through an initial edit, I had to start again because the sound was really messed up. Then, I got it edited really quickly, but converting to DVD and then to YouTube took FOREVER. It was ridiculous. That’s because it was a 30fps hd video and I only have a 4-year-old laptop to work with. Someday if I ever make any money off this thing, I gotta get me a new computer! (That’s a hint, by the way: buy a comic book now right HERE.)

The past week has been an education in Final Cut Pro and I’ve got two videos to show for it. The first is a shoot of the Alamo show we did a couple of weeks ago. On each of the three nights we shot from a different angle, so we got pretty good coverage of the performance.

The other video uses footage I shot of Graham Reynolds, the composer, a couple of years ago, combined with recent footage of the production. In the video, Graham talks about the creation of the music, with samples showing what he’s talking about. I think it’s a pretty good behind-the-scenes look at the project. Enjoy!
